Overview
A regional accounting platform is seeking a Family Services Manager to work closely with high-wealth clients and trusts. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on accuracy and meeting tight deadlines during tax season.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complete and accurate tax returns and review returns prepared by others.
- Prepare documentation supporting tax return calculations.
- Mentor a team of Associates, Seniors, and Supervisors.
- Review data input and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate closely with partners and keep the team informed on project status.
- Maintain increased client communication during tax return preparation and potentially across multiple years.
- Understand and apply federal, state, and local tax codes.
- Apply knowledge creatively to real-life tax situations.
- Share ideas and opinions with the team.
- Attend professional development and training sessions regularly and apply new knowledge to assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- 5-7+ years of public accounting experience, preferably with complex tax matters involving high-wealth clients and trusts.
