Overview
This role involves serving as a Finance AI Expert within a leading Business and Technology Insights group. The expert will produce published insights and advise finance leaders—including CFOs, FP&A leaders, Controllers, and Finance Transformation leaders—on Artificial Intelligence-related questions and challenges. The position requires deep experience working with corporate finance teams and familiarity with AI investments in finance processes such as forecasting, planning, budgeting, record to report, and transactional finance. Collaboration with other corporate functions like IT, Data, Legal, and HR is also essential.
Responsibilities
- Create unique, defensible, and highly consumable business and technology insights addressing AI priorities and opportunities for finance leaders.
- Serve as a leading authority on finance AI topics, including:
- AI use cases involving traditional, generative, and agentic AI techniques.
- Setting up AI pilots and scaling initiatives.
- Governance of finance AI tools.
- Navigating the finance AI vendor landscape.
- Connecting AI to finance process automation and transformation.
- Impact of AI technologies on the finance function.
- Stay current on external AI trends relevant to finance audiences and produce innovative, thought-provoking insights.
- Develop in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client challenges and reframe thinking to drive strategy.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and contribute to evolving research agendas.
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends to provide actionable insights to clients and vendors.
- Provide actionable advice to clients via virtual or face-to-face interactions.
- Create and deliver high-value presentations for events, conferences, and client briefings.
- Support sales and insights teams by serving as the voice of the market and driving client engagement.
- Provide high-quality and timely peer review of content.
- Build credibility as an industry expert representing research methodology and strategy.
- Participate actively in innovation, ideation, and research discussions.
- Identify and implement research process improvements.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Maintain a client-centric approach and encourage regular client engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in finance function and technology topics, including 3+ years focused on AI for finance.
- Career exposure to major finance processes, workflows, data sources, and technologies.
- Experience deploying AI functionality in embedded tools and developing company-specific AI solutions.
- Exposure to data science, quantitative analytics, statistics, probabilistic decision-making, and coding languages (preferably Python).
- Executive presence with the ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines with high-quality deliverables.
- Excellence in research, writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data, apply frameworks, and defend conclusions.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Comfortable presenting at both large and small-scale speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural global team.
- Learning agility and ability to navigate highly matrixed environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% where applicable.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base salary range: $148,000 - $175,500 USD, with actual salary dependent on education, experience, and location.
