Overview
This role involves managing the global indirect tax footprint of a leading interactive entertainment company specializing in mobile and social casino-themed games. The Indirect Tax Senior will report to the Indirect Tax Manager/VP of Tax and play a critical role in overseeing VAT, GST, and similar tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Review reporting and compliance obligations related to indirect taxes (VAT, GST, etc.) globally
- Coordinate with third-party advisors and internal compliance teams to ensure adherence to tax requirements
- Conduct indirect tax research on existing and new business offerings
- Manage the notice resolution process with external advisors
- Support remediation workstreams addressing historical tax exposures
- Review tax engines (e.g., Vertex, Stripe) to verify correct tax application on customer sales
- Prepare quarterly VAT account reconciliations for managerial review
- Collaborate with internal e-payments, finance teams, and external payment processors to fulfill data needs
- Serve as a point of contact alongside the Indirect Tax Manager for indirect tax guidance on strategic initiatives
- Support local controllers and indirect tax managers in addressing local indirect tax requirements
- Coordinate with income tax teams and local finance departments for global tax planning and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 2-3 years of relevant indirect tax experience, preferably in Big 4 or multinational public companies, with emphasis on managing compliance workflows
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Strong research and writing skills
- Experience with tax research tools such as Checkpoint and/or BNA
- CPA certification and/or Master’s degree in Business Taxation preferred
