Overview

The Finance Operational Analyst provides financial support for critical, time-bound processes including the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and the month-end close cycle. This role assists with data gathering, trending, modeling, forecasting, planning, and reporting. The analyst collects information from across the organization to build models that provide insight into underlying business dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial and business-related analyses, research, and forecasts as directed.
  • Compile and prepare accurate and timely reports; communicate insights using tables, graphs, and charts.
  • Analyze alternatives, develop recommendations, and conduct research using multiple sources.
  • Develop and prepare analytical and statistical reports supporting business activities.
  • Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for the assigned business area, including variance analysis and sensitivity testing.
  • Contribute to critical planning and analysis processes.
  • Partner with other departments to prepare analyses and identify improvement opportunities that can positively impact the bottom line.
  • Support functional and cross-functional projects and implement process improvements within the functional area.
  • Articulate the impact of analysis, modeling, and business decision support on key financial measures (e.g., Gross Profit, Operating Margin, DOH, DSO, etc.).
  • Conceptualize, develop, and present business cases to department financial leadership.
  • Serve as an informed team member by providing analysis and some project direction input.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.

Experience

  • 0-2 years FP&A experience required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including active listening and the ability to ask relevant questions.
  • Novice to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and related software.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding analytical skills (numerical and verbal).
  • Strong strategic planning, financial and operations/business background (not purely financial).
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Good judgment, including times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

  • Pay rate/range: The employer anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual pay will depend on factors including education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Location

  • Remote role: performed remotely from the associate’s primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so.

  • Travel (minor): may require travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods at a desk or computer terminal.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment during the normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required to complete job duties.
