Overview
This role supports the Senior Finance Project Accountant and works closely with the Senior Finance Project Manager as part of a growing finance team.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior FPA to oversee up to $12m of fee-based revenue, ensuring all projects are reconciled when complete to an audit-ready standard
- Manage VP finance reporting packs on a daily basis
- Partner with the senior finance team and Client Services to improve recoverability and productivity across their clients and team
- Support the completion and evaluation of various reporting to improve business efficiency, making recommendations to senior finance team members
- Prepare job profitability analysis, including regular liaison with Client Services to understand variances from expectations and the commercial and financial aspects of client relationships
- Work with Client Services to raise and check client estimates before they are sent, comparing estimates with similar projects to ensure appropriate charging
- Support Client Services with monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc queries
- Use problem-solving skills to resolve any system or reporting challenges
- Assist staff across the business with Paprika and process/policy queries
- Communicate with clients to troubleshoot day-to-day issues such as budgeting and job administration
- Engage in client meetings to support the Client Services team
- Assist with preparation of month-end management accounts, focusing on revenue recognition and WIP
- Ensure financial transactions are recorded in line with financial policies and procedures; highlight any breaches to senior team members
- Raise sales invoices and ensure timely receipt of payment
Requirements
- A number of years’ experience within the Marketing/Advertising/Comms industry, preferably with some experience within the international Med Comms industry
- Good understanding of industry standards, including accounting principles, particularly around revenue recognition
- Experience with Paprika accounting software or a similar advanced project management system
- Advanced skills in MS Office
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Efficient time management and organizational skills
- Good team communication and influencing skills
- Proactive and flexible approach; problem-solver who adapts to and advocates for new systems and shares ideas
- Ability to work collegiately and on own initiative, in a largely remote but highly communicative and supportive environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferably finance or accounting degree and/or part qualified from a relevant professional body, ideally looking to complete studies in due course
