Overview
This role involves producing dependable financial analysis that supports planning and informed decision-making. Responsibilities include maintaining reports, comparing actual results with expectations, and helping communicate key performance drivers.
A typical analysis may begin with a difference between plan and actual performance. You will determine which accounts or operating factors contributed to the movement, verify underlying information, and communicate results with appropriate context.

- Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
- Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
- Conduct variance analysis beyond stating that a number is higher or lower by identifying underlying operational or financial drivers when the information allows.
- Use good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent by investigating the source, documenting limitations, and avoiding presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.
- Maintain dependable communication and self-management while working remotely by organizing work, responding to reasonable requests for updates, and using shared digital tools to keep responsibilities visible and handoffs clear.
Requirements
- Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
- Clear written communication skills and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
