Financial Analyst

Overview

This role is a Financial Analyst position with the organization. The position is Remote (United States) and Full Time.

Salary: $67,000-$75,000 per year

The work involves combining strong spreadsheet skills with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends. You will help stakeholders understand both what changed and why it may matter.

Assignments may include updating a forecast, reviewing actual results against a budget, preparing a management report, and testing how changes in assumptions could affect expected outcomes. You will organize inputs, validate calculations, and summarize the most meaningful drivers.

Responsibilities

• Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
• Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, explaining meaningful variances.
• Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.

Requirements

• Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
• Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
• Comfort learning organization-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
• Good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent, including investigating the source, documenting limitations, and avoiding presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.
