Overview

This Financial Analyst role supports budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making through dependable financial analysis. You will maintain reporting, compare actual results against expectations, and help communicate key performance drivers.

You may work across financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions within the same week. Emphasis is placed on accuracy checks, clear assumptions, and conclusions that are actionable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and items requiring follow-up.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Compare actual results to budgets, forecasts, and prior periods; explain meaningful variances.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may impact expected results.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before analysis is distributed or relied upon.

Requirements

  • Clear written communication skills and ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind financial changes.
  • Ability to learn company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before finalizing analysis.
  • Comfort making assumptions visible in forecasting, including presenting alternative scenarios when a single estimate could create a false sense of precision.
  • Maintain technically reliable financial work that is also useful to decision-makers.
  • Remote collaboration with common digital workplace tools; professional communication, responsible time management, and ownership from initial request through completion.
