Overview

This full-time Financial Analyst role is remote within the United States. The position focuses on organizing financial information into useful views of actual performance, expected results, and the factors driving differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are essential throughout the work.

The role includes both routine reporting and forward-looking analysis. Some assignments follow regular financial cycles, while others require scenario comparisons, variance investigation, or linking financial results to the operating activity behind them.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • In variance analysis, go beyond stating that a number is higher or lower by identifying drivers behind movements when the information allows, and explaining whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Strong performance in this role means producing work that is technically reliable and useful to decision-makers, with numbers supported by clear assumptions, reasonable checks, and concise explanations of key drivers.
