Overview

This role is a Financial Analyst position supporting the organization’s budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. You will help turn financial data into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the factors driving differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are essential.

The position is full-time and remote within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Compare actual results against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods and explain meaningful variances.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Conduct variance analysis beyond stating whether values are higher or lower—where information allows, identify the operational or financial drivers behind movements and whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Comfort learning organization-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
