Overview

This role involves supporting the organization's mortgage and finance operations through financial analysis and business reporting. The Financial Analyst II provides insights and data-driven recommendations to assist management in making informed financial decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and management to clarify reporting requirements and interpret data.
  • Support financial management, production, and operational leadership with relevant financial information.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and patterns; communicate findings and recommended actions effectively to leadership.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports by compiling and summarizing data from multiple sources, utilizing tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence (BI) software.
  • Maintain and update financial models, dashboards, and reporting packages including profit and loss statements, pro formas, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production and operations.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in all reporting and BI tools; address data integrity issues.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies to optimize data quality and efficiency, leveraging technology and automation.
  • Provide support to senior financial analysts and financial management; collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Cross-train in duties of other financial analysts and provide backup coverage as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a directly related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial analysis role preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Advanced ability to interpret and consolidate financial statements across multiple business units.
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and working with large datasets.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and growing environment.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Skilled in managing communications with multiple stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to research and identify solutions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mortgage production, operations, and financial processes.
  • Ability to complete projects within established deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and collaborative cloud-based programs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • This is a non-exempt position with a targeted salary range of $29 to $44 per hour.
  • Compensation is influenced by factors such as local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, experience level, and geographic location.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), long-term disability (LTD), and a 401(k) plan with employer match.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Primarily sedentary work in an office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Ability to interpret sounds consistent with interpersonal conversation.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
