Financial Analyst

Overview

This full-time, remote Financial Analyst role supports the organization by organizing financial information into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the drivers behind differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are required throughout the work.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
• Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
• Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so the work remains understandable and reusable.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
• Conduct variance analysis beyond noting whether figures are higher or lower by identifying operational or financial drivers and assessing whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or require further review.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
• Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
• Clear written communication and ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $71,000–$79,000 per year
