Overview
A physician-led, patient-centric network of eye care practices is seeking a Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Financial Analyst to optimize the financial performance of healthcare operations. The organization operates 50 clinics and five surgery centers across Florida, the Carolinas, and Virginia, supported by 95 providers and over 1,000 team members. The role focuses on analyzing the entire billing cycle to reduce denials, improve cash flow, and ensure revenue integrity.
Responsibilities
- Review daily and monthly revenue metrics, identify trends in denials, and conduct variance analysis between actual and expected reimbursements
- Assess productivity and effectiveness of third-party revenue cycle vendors and provide insights for improvements
- Identify bottlenecks in the revenue cycle from patient intake to final payment and implement process enhancements
- Track key performance indicators such as Days in Accounts Receivable (DAR), Charge Lag, TOS Collections, Net Collection Rates, Denial Ratios, and clean claim rates
- Collaborate with RCM leadership to develop and refine monthly operational reports and dashboards
- Analyze financial variances, benchmark performance, and support revenue forecasting and budgeting processes
- Maintain and update fee schedules and reimbursement models for Medicare and commercial payers
- Prepare and interpret financial reports related to reimbursement, physician charge capture, and patient-level data
- Work with billing, coding, and clinical teams to resolve coding errors or documentation issues impacting revenue
- Gather operational requirements to document, implement, and monitor workflow processes
- Develop reports and models to track key performance indicators and analyze the impact of operational changes
- Participate in special projects and provide analytical support as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Health Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management and financial analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables), SQL, and data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Strong understanding of medical billing processes (CMS-1500, UB-04), CPT/ICD-10 coding, and payer contracts (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and generate actionable insights
- Effective communication skills for presenting financial data to leadership and operational teams
