Overview

This role supports budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of business performance. Responsibilities focus on producing technically reliable financial analysis while clearly explaining what the numbers mean in practical terms.

Responsibilities

  • Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Update forecasts and review actual results against a budget.
  • Test how changes in assumptions could affect expected outcomes.
  • Organize inputs, check calculations, and summarize the most meaningful drivers.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Comfort learning business-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Forecasting approach that makes assumptions visible rather than hidden inside calculations; ability to present alternative scenarios when a single estimate could create a false sense of precision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial analysis and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for modeling and reporting.
