Overview
The organization is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst, Journeyman to support NAVAIR at the Patuxent River, MD location. This role is primarily remote, with occasional in-person support based on client needs. The position focuses on accurate financial tracking, compliance with government processes, and providing actionable insights to support program objectives.
Responsibilities
- Apply analytic techniques to evaluate program and project objectives, requirements, status, budgets, and schedules
- Perform management, technical, and business case analyses to support program decision-making
- Collect, organize, and interpret data related to aircraft, weapon, and project acquisition efforts
- Track program and project status, schedules, and funding obligations
- Implement government-instituted processes for documentation, change control, and data management
- Lead and coordinate Business Financial Management (BFM) processes to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Perform PPBE and program budget and execution functions, including managing MIPRs, PID/PRs, and MOAs
- Use Navy ERP to track, reconcile, and monitor program obligations, expenditures, and fund status
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, variances, and deficiencies, and provide recommendations for budget and funding strategies
- Develop detailed funding instructions for procurement actions, ensuring alignment with program goals and compliance requirements
- Support financial audits and provide ongoing financial tracking and monitoring for contract obligations
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with DoD financial systems and processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; or an equivalent substitution as outlined below
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Proficiency in using Navy ERP or similar financial management systems
- Experience with PPBE, program budget, and execution processes
- Knowledge of Military Interdepartmental Procurement Requests (MIPR), Procurement Initiation Documents (PID/PRs), and Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret and organize complex data related to aircraft, weapon, and project acquisition programs
