Overview

A client of the organization is seeking a professional to conduct in-depth analysis of client-reported electronic data to ensure accuracy and timeliness in accordance with treaty guidelines. This role involves preparing quarterly Statutory, IFRS, and Solvency II financial reports for assigned accounts and communicating any client issues or unusual reporting trends with potential financial consequences to relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Cash Reporting, Client Data, and Analysis (45%)

  • Develop a thorough understanding of treaty guidelines specific to assigned treaties to determine expectations.
  • Analyze client-reported data for accuracy according to treaty guidelines.
  • Investigate deviations or errors and determine appropriate resolutions.
  • Liaise with clients to understand and correct reporting deviations or errors.
  • Communicate actual or potential financial consequences or business risks to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Calculate and analyze Experience Refunds and Loss Carry Forwards.
  • Accurately record all client reporting details using various business systems to ensure validity of financial reports.
  • Analyze Trend Reports for reasonability and balance checks.

Statutory, IFRS, and Solvency II Financial Reporting (45%)

  • Prepare and analyze quarterly Statutory, IFRS, and Solvency II financial reports for assigned assumed Health Solutions reinsurance treaties and related retrocessions.
  • Provide clear explanations for reporting period variances.
  • Collaborate closely with financial reporting and actuarial teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare financial workpaper documentation and schedules for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits to substantiate compliance with local and IFRS reporting standards.

Audit of Problematic Accounts (10%)

  • Independently analyze and identify client reporting inconsistencies and implement corrections.
  • Propose procedures to improve processing inefficiencies.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • College degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an insurance-related field.
  • Business knowledge of (re)insurance concepts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills for maintaining professional relationships with clients, reinsurers, and internal teams.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Competence in SAP, Power BI, or equivalent systems.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively based on contractual obligations, volume, and urgency.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction.
  • Provides accurate and timely updates on work status and escalates issues appropriately.
  • Takes responsibility for quality, completeness, and accuracy of work.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Health and Special Risk reinsurance practices and principles.
  • Industry-relevant designations.
  • Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis with large data sets.
  • Knowledge of systems and data structures applicable to (re)insurance operations.

Travel

Less than 5% travel is expected, primarily for client visits or travel to/from the Orlando office depending on remote location.
