Overview

This is a remote role open to applicants in the US and Canada.

The Financial Controller is responsible for predictable cash forecasting by ensuring daily visibility into cash and profit results. The role also ensures internal controls are in place to accurately and securely account for financial assets, while meeting regulatory reporting and payment requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily cash and profit reporting to support cash forecasting.
  • Maintain internal controls to accurately and securely account for financial assets.
  • Manage regulatory reporting and payment requirements.
  • Lead the accounting team and oversee processes that enable timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Complete required reporting within established timelines, including monthly reports to management and the parent (AUO).
  • Manage relationships with auditors and ensure the annual audit/review is completed with a clean opinion.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies by improving existing processes and implementing new processes.
  • Lead and continuously improve accounting tactics and processes.
  • Ensure each team member understands quarterly OBT and has clear visibility into critical numbers to account for performance by day, week, month, quarter, and year.
  • Support a culture of trust, candor, transparency, growth, learning, empowerment, performance, and accountability.
  • Ensure team members contribute at an A Player level and drive improvements to close gaps when performance is below expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • 3–5+ years of Controller experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working for a SAAS company in a leadership role.
  • Experience with month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Experience with audits (internal and external).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Understanding of tax compliance and regulatory requirements across Canada, US, and Europe.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and processes.
  • Track record managing staff with the ability and willingness to work at a senior level while also diving into transaction-level detail and assisting as required.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
