Overview
This role is for an experienced Financial Credit Analyst to help build a US credit data set. The position is based in the United States and reports to the Head of US Data located in New York, NY.
The employer supports financial data extraction and analysis for major investment firms and focuses on accuracy, integrity, and automation of repetitive tasks.
Responsibilities
- Grow the data set by processing financial reports using the employer’s proprietary data extraction system assembled with machine learning technology
- Analyze extraction outputs for accuracy and completeness using internally developed audit tools and techniques
- Monitor and “own” your coverage universe to support live data updates during corporate earnings season
- Interact with clients to answer questions about data and product functionality; support sales and account management teams as needed
- Discuss product priorities and strategic objectives with management
- Collaborate with the engineering team to review system performance and identify improvement opportunities, including analyst tools and a client-facing application
Requirements
- Accounting background and/or skilled accountant experience from a Big 4 accounting firm or financial data analyst looking to develop both financial and technological skills
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset; motivated by data integrity challenges; able to work independently
- Ability to demonstrate superior work performance, attention to detail, and a commitment to outstanding results
- Accounting and/or finance qualifications such as CPA or CFA preferred (Big 4 experience preferred)
- Financial statement audit/analysis capabilities
- Familiarity with creating financial models/reports from scratch
- Strong academic track record with a background in accounting and/or finance
- US GAAP experience is essential; IFRS experience is useful
- Good Excel knowledge plus experience with data management
- Passion for technology and learning new tools
- Fluent in English and eligible to work in the US
