Overview
The Financial Planning Analyst IV compiles and analyzes financial information, including evaluating potential investments, divestitures, contracts, product lines, and generating and managing cost-saving initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Analyze monthly department reports to maintain expenditure controls and proactively identify trends impacting future financial requirements.
- Prepare and review integrated financial analyses and reports for management on a timely and accurate basis, including post-implementation reviews when necessary; identify trends, develop competitive analysis, and present findings to senior management.
- Analyze financial trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments/obligations to predict future revenues and expenses; understand the financial impact of decisions and communicate to management.
- Develop expense projections to support forecasting and budgeting; monitor monthly variances to identify trends.
- Evaluate and improve internal analysis processes to ensure practices align with organizational goals.
- Lead initiatives to improve internal controls and financial reporting.
- Lead implementation of new financial reporting procedures for new programs or program changes.
- Lead and direct implementation of new financial reporting-related systems.
- Assist departmental management and others to ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and in conformance with organizational policies and/or other contractual commitments.
- Support the quarterly review, forecast process, and annual budget process within Corporate Finance.
- Ensure integrity of information used for analysis; maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant computer information systems.
- Maintain reporting of revenue and/or expenses in the organization’s financial software.
- Review expense allocations by area to products, make necessary changes, and communicate updates to P&L owners.
- Work with leadership on monthly board and audit presentations.
- Work with leadership and Business Development on the five-year strategic plan and support pro forma work for new business opportunities.
- Partner with leaders on turnover, attrition, open positions, and the impact to salary and other compensation line items.
- Review vendor spend and ensure accountability for dollars spent versus forecast and plan.
- Mentor and coach new associates.
- Perform other job duties as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in accounting, finance, economics, computer sciences, or related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
- Six (6) years of related experience in accounting/finance is required.
- Business-related post-graduate degree is preferred and provides credit for one year of related experience.
- Managed Care or healthcare experience is preferred.

Licensure & Certification
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) FP&A, or related certification is preferred and provides credit for one year of related experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- $83,000.00 - $132,800.00
- Base compensation plus potential bonus tied to company and individual performance.

Location & Working Conditions
- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- May be required to travel occasionally.
