Overview

This full-time Fiscal Technician I position offers the opportunity to work remotely with the flexibility of full-time telework, supporting the financial operations of a large state treasury department. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, managing wire transfers, and providing responsive customer service to agency inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Process payments following established procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Manage morning and afternoon wire transfer tasks
  • Assist with clearing general ledger journals to maintain organized financial records
  • Respond to agency emails with accurate information and strong customer service
  • Perform deletes and closes of payments and assist with daily operational tasks

Work Schedule and Location

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with a 60-minute lunch
  • Opportunity for full-time telework from an approved location within Pennsylvania with a securely configured high-speed internet connection
  • Option to report to headquarters office if telework is not feasible
  • Telework arrangements are subject to change

Requirements

Experience and Education

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years maintaining fiscal or financial records, including one year applying accounting or fiscal principles; and a high school diploma; or
  • One year of experience maintaining and reviewing fiscal records plus an Associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Equivalent combination of experience and training

Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based utilities or ability to learn relevant software
  • Ability to perform essential job functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using PeopleSoft
  • Experience handling customer inquiries and providing general information
  • Experience applying accounting practices to post entries to general ledger accounts
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
