Overview
This role involves leading client relationships from proposal through engagement implementation and ongoing fund administration for private equity and debt funds. The position requires ensuring proper staffing and training, developing and maintaining procedures to meet deliverables and client satisfaction, and managing various fund accounting and reporting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for client relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and training needs are met on engagements.
- Develop and maintain procedures to meet internal and external deliverables and client satisfaction.
- Review and implement partnership allocation models based on partnership agreements.
- Gain proficiency in key systems, including Investran Live and DX.
- Coordinate and review investor communications such as capital call and distribution notices and capital balance statements.
- Review investment transactions using the Investran Live general ledger system.
- Review management fee calculations, invoices, and journal entries.
- Review daily and monthly cash reconciliations for partnerships and related portfolio companies.
- Review fund financial statements and management reporting, including IRR performance summaries and investment transaction reports.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to provide direction on projects and inquiries, including reviewing staff-prepared materials such as general ledger entries, quarterly work papers, audit confirmations, LP requests, and other ad hoc materials.
- Review and/or calculate private equity benchmark returns, including gross/net MOI, IRR, TVPI, RVPI, and DPI.
- Review materials for interim and annual audits of fund partnerships and establish working relationships with auditors.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or audit, preferably in private equity, fund administration, or public accounting.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with prompt task completion.
- Willingness to take on additional ad-hoc tasks and projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Investran Live.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative team approach.
- High integrity and ethical standards.
- Undergraduate degree required; MBA is a plus.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $122,000 - $183,000 per year (base salary only; actual pay depends on qualifications, experience, and skills).
