Overview

This role involves serving as a Senior Fund Accountant responsible for delivering high-quality fund accounting and client service to private equity fund service clients. The position oversees core accounting and reporting processes including capital activity, allocations, fee calculations, cash management, and financial statements. It also acts as a trusted day-to-day contact for clients and provides mentorship to junior team members. Collaboration with fund leadership on complex accounting matters, audits, and client requests is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review capital contribution and distribution calculations, management fee calculations, monthly cash reconciliations, expense schedules, and income calculations.
  • Prepare and review quarterly incentive allocation models based on partnership agreements.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for partnerships, including Statements of Assets and Liabilities/Partners’ Capital, Operations, Partners’ Capital, and Cash Flows, as well as supplemental management reports such as performance metrics.
  • Prepare materials for interim and annual audits and establish working relationships with auditors.
  • Coordinate communication of investor notices including distributions, capital calls, and capital balances via investor portal applications.
  • Respond to investor inquiries and requests related to responsible partnerships.
  • Manage client timelines to ensure deliverables are met, including participation in weekly external calls to stay current with client needs and capital activity requirements at fund and portfolio company levels.
  • Develop working knowledge of key systems including Investran Live (accounting system) and CRM platforms.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably with private equity, partnerships, and/or alternative assets.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with prompt task completion.
  • Willingness to undertake additional ad-hoc tasks and projects.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining advanced spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Investran Live.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong team-oriented approach.
  • Unquestionable integrity and ethics.
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • CPA certification is a plus but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $82,000 - $123,000 per year (base salary only; actual pay depends on qualifications, experience, and skills).
