Overview

This role leads the organization’s global tax and treasury functions. Responsibilities include global tax strategy, reporting, and compliance; cash and liquidity management; banking and investments; and the team, controls, and systems needed to support a rapidly scaling marketplace.

The position is remote with flexibility to work from home or from one of the organization’s global office hubs. Individuals in this role must live within commuting distance of the San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York City hub.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive global tax strategy, reporting, and compliance.
  • Lead treasury operations, including cash and liquidity management.
  • Manage banking relationships, investments, foreign exchange risk, and intercompany funding.
  • Oversee liquidity planning and cash forecasting.
  • Ensure proper tax treatment across US and international tax, including transfer pricing and indirect tax.
  • Build and mature the tax and treasury team, along with associated controls and systems.
  • Partner across Finance, Payments, Legal, Product, and Engineering to manage risk and improve capital efficiency.
  • Support international expansion, M&A, financing transactions, and complex legal entity structures.
  • Communicate effectively with executives and influence key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive corporate tax, treasury, or finance leadership, including meaningful ownership of both global tax and treasury in a multinational business.
  • Deep expertise in ASC 740, U.S. corporate and international tax, transfer pricing, indirect tax, and global tax compliance and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience leading liquidity planning, cash forecasting, investments, banking relationships, foreign exchange risk, and intercompany funding.
  • Public accounting experience, ideally Big 4, plus in-house experience at a high-growth technology, marketplace, payments, or e-commerce company.
  • Experience supporting international expansion, M&A, financing transactions, and complex legal entity structures.
  • Proven success building teams, systems, controls, and processes in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong executive communication and influence.
  • Ownership mindset; ability to work quickly, operate through ambiguity, and take direct action when needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA, MST, CTP, JD, or another relevant advanced credential strongly preferred.

  • Experience operating in a rapidly scaling marketplace environment.
  • Demonstrated success questioning existing approaches and building better solutions.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end outcomes.
  • Ability to speak to product with real context, including use as both a buyer and a seller.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation Range: $336K - $395K
