  • Identify available credits and incentives, and manage execution of incentives, BPT/PPT, and other real estate and annual reporting requirements.
  • Manage the team and external accounting firm in preparing federal, state, and local tax filings for partnerships, LLCs, and S-corporations.

  • Lead preparation and optimization of forecasts to reflect current-year business events and tax law changes.
  • Own quarterly cash tax outflows and estimated tax payments across all business entities, including preparing internal reporting documents and coordinating with accounting and treasury on required cash movement to ensure accurate, on-time remittance.
  • Communicate quarterly tax summaries to shareholders and other stakeholders in a timely manner.

People Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Establish and enforce high standards for tax documentation, workpapers, ownership records, calendars, and internal review processes.
  • Build and maintain a compliance tracker and director-level review materials to make compliance status visible without requiring Director intervention.
  • Leverage technology to improve data collection, validation, and reporting, with a continuous improvement mindset and a hands-on approach.

  • Serve as a technical resource, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience with a regional or national accounting firm or a large domestic tax department, including pass-through entity tax and compliance expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. pass-through federal and state tax law, including experience maintaining partner tax capital accounts, taxable income, and outside tax basis.
  • Experience with fixed asset/depreciation review and state nexus and apportionment analysis.
  • Proficiency with Excel Power Query, BI reporting tools, and AI-assisted automation tools to improve data collection, validation, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with tax research tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; JD, MST, or CPA a plus.
