Overview
An organization is seeking an Insurance Billing/Follow Up Specialist to join their team. Candidates should reside in Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin, with preference given to those in the Midwest. Applicants outside this region will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform all billing and follow-up functions related to hospital claims.
- Investigate payment delays due to no response, denied, rejected, or pending claims.
- Maximize reimbursements and ensure timely payment of claims.
- Work with commercial payers such as Aetna, Cigna, Midland’s Choice, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare.
- Collaborate with centralized cash posting teams to resolve missing or unposted remittances.
- Ensure accurate daily transmission of claims and submission of required documentation.
- Verify eligibility and claims status on unpaid claims.
- Provide timely feedback to management regarding claims issues, repetitive errors, and payer trends.
- Manage accounts in assigned queues according to departmental guidelines.
- Work directly with third-party payers and internal/external customers to resolve claims effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years hospital billing experience.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in denial management and follow-up on hospital claims.
- Experience working with commercial payers.
- Proficiency with Epic software.
- Must have a dedicated work-from-home space.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $19.00 - $23.00.
