Overview

A pharmacy franchise organization specializing in infusion services for patients with chronic and acute conditions is seeking an Intake Specialist for Revenue Cycle Management. Established in 1986, the organization supports over 100 franchised infusion pharmacies and clinics across 35 states, focusing on underserved and secondary markets.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient files for completeness and accuracy, audit claims, and ensure all revenue opportunities are captured
  • Submit primary and secondary billing to payers via paper bills and clearinghouse submissions
  • Communicate with franchise partners and internal departments regarding order intake status
  • Document case activity and communications to maintain accurate account records and schedule follow-ups
  • Verify benefits for pharmacy and medical third-party claims
  • Obtain and track prior authorizations, expedite responses, and keep customers informed
  • Report and escalate service issues to prevent therapy interruptions
  • Explain financial obligations to patients before starting service
  • Support the design of training, policies, and procedures to improve revenue cycle management efficiency
  • Assist with online adjudication of collection issues and nurse billing as assigned
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent English communication skills for interacting with patients, caregivers, and payer representatives
  • Knowledge of billing and collection processes with all payer types
  • Ability to identify documentation gaps, make decisions, and implement corrective actions
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain clear, complete records
  • Proficiency with MS Office and pharmacy applications
  • High school diploma or equivalent with specialized training in intake, pharmacy/medical billing, or collections
  • Minimum two years of experience in Intake, Medical Billing, and/or Collections
  • Minimum two years of home infusion therapy experience
  • Coding Course Certification is highly preferred
