Overview
An interim Financial Evaluation & Modeling Consultant is needed to support the Global Business & Corporate Development function of a growing global veterinary pharmaceuticals organization. This is a remote, W2 contract position based in the United States with an initial six-month engagement.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain complex financial models for acquisitions, licensing agreements, co-development partnerships, and product investments.
- Collaborate with Commercial and Market Intelligence teams to develop revenue forecasts for strategically aligned therapeutic areas.
- Lead valuation, scenario, and sensitivity analyses using methodologies such as DCF, risk-adjusted NPV (rNPV), IRR, and EBITDA multiples.
- Evaluate external business-development opportunities including in-licensing, strategic collaborations, M&A, and external innovation projects.
- Translate scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, and market information into defensible financial assumptions.
- Prepare investment and business cases for senior leadership and investment committees.
- Provide financial input into portfolio prioritization, capital allocation, long-range planning, and pipeline valuation.
- Conduct market and competitive analyses to inform strategic and financial decisions.
- Coordinate cross-functional due diligence with Regulatory, Commercial, HR, Legal, Manufacturing, Finance, and other stakeholders.
- Lead financial due diligence internally or with external advisors.
- Develop deal models and assess alternative structures involving upfront payments, milestones, royalties, and other economic terms.
- Support negotiation preparation by analyzing value drivers, risks, and structuring options.
- Prepare concise, decision-oriented materials for senior leadership and board-level discussions.
- Explain complex modeling outputs and valuation conclusions to non-financial stakeholders.
- Collaborate across Finance, R&D, Commercial, Regulatory, and other global teams to validate assumptions and align recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience in corporate finance/M&A, transaction services, corporate development, investment banking, valuation, or strategic finance.
- Proven hands-on ownership of complex financial models and transaction or investment evaluations.
- Strong working knowledge of DCF, rNPV, IRR, EBITDA multiples, sensitivity analysis, revenue forecasting, and business-case development.
- Experience identifying, evaluating, or supporting transactions and strategic investment opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial conclusions to senior and non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience working across functions and geographies in a global or matrixed environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in corporate development, transaction, commercial strategy, or financial evaluation within animal health, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or life sciences.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical or animal-health product development, therapeutic areas, regulatory pathways, and global commercial dynamics.
- Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, or equivalent.
- Experience with licensing economics including upfront payments, development and commercial milestones, and royalty structures.
- Power BI experience.
- Experience working across North America, Europe, LATAM, and Asia-Pacific markets.
- Exposure to digital health, AI-enabled business development, or innovative go-to-market models.
Compensation & Benefits
- Approximately $85/hour on a W2 basis, with flexibility based on experience.

- Commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during standard daytime business hours.
