Overview
This role involves preparing and analyzing investment-related accounting and reporting in collaboration with outside investment managers, the internal investment team, and third-party accounting services. The position requires a high degree of independence in handling reconciliations and statutory reporting for portfolios including Fixed Income, Equities, and Alternative Investments.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and prepare investment entries and adjustments to financial statements accurately and timely.
- Provide investment data for management and Board of Directors reporting, including investment committee reports.
- Analyze other-than-temporary impairment adjustments, prepare related reports, and maintain the impairment policy.
- Reconcile portfolio balances between the general ledger, custodian reports, and investment manager reports.
- Identify and implement new investment processes as needed and maintain adequate controls over current processes.
- Prepare timely and accurate audit work papers and disclosures for auditors and examiners related to investments.
- Prepare investment-related sections of quarterly and annual filings.
- Prepare investment income plan versus actual reporting to track performance against financial goals.
- Serve on finance project teams as requested.
- Continuously improve processes related to regular activities.
- Maintain all relevant controls related to job duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of accounting or finance experience with an emphasis on investment accounting or NAIC Statutory Accounting.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices applicable to the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
- Experience with Clearwater Analytics (CWAN).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Alternative Investment Accounting experience.
- CPA certification preferred.

- Salary range: $87,600 to $105,900 USD, with final offers based on experience and expertise.
