Overview
- Classification: Independent Contractor
- Location: Remote
- Hours: Full-time
- Reports to: Principal
This role supports the fund across two fronts: capital formation and investment work. Writing is a meaningful part of the position, with substantial responsibility for LP updates, recaps, memos, and fund communications.
Responsibilities
Fundraising & LP Support
- Support active fundraising workstreams, from materials preparation through follow-up
- Draft LP updates, recap emails, follow-up notes, and outreach communications
- Maintain LP pipeline tracking and keep records current after every meeting
- Prepare briefing materials and background research ahead of LP conversations
- Support development of fund decks, one-pagers, and data room materials
- Contribute to fund newsletters and outward-facing communications
Investment Research & Diligence
- Develop market maps, thematic research, and investment theses across target sectors
- Conduct primary research through calls with operators, customers, and industry experts
- Support quantitative and qualitative diligence, including market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and financial analysis
- Contribute to investment memos and materials for internal decision-making
- Track deal flow, co-investor activity, and market momentum
- Maintain research libraries and diligence documentation
Deal Support
- Support deal execution workstreams alongside the Principal
- Assist with diligence coordination, data requests, and document tracking
- Build working familiarity with term sheets, cap tables, and governance documents
- Keep deal materials current and accessible across the team
Written Communication
- Write clear, warm, polished communications that adapt tone to the audience
- Turn meetings and conversations into accurate, useful written recaps
- Draft materials that go directly to LPs, founders, and co-investors with minimal editing
- Support fund communications that require a marketing sensibility, not only analytical work
Requirements
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in venture capital, investment banking/investment baking, startup ops/strategy, consulting, or founder (office) roles
- Direct exposure to fundraising, investor relations, or LP communications
- Exceptional written English (primary filter): write clearly, warmly, and precisely; adapt register by audience (LP, founder, or internal stakeholder)
- Strong verbal communication; credible on calls with senior investors and operators
- Solid analytical foundation, including financial modeling, market sizing, competitive analysis, and comfort with accounting fundamentals
- Working familiarity with term sheets, cap tables, and diligence processes
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace
- AI fluency with Claude and ChatGPT for research, drafting, and analysis (no coding required)
- Comfortable working with US-based teams and American business culture
- Organized and autonomous; able to manage multiple workstreams without dropping threads
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting an active fund raise
- Some marketing or copywriting strength to contribute to newsletters and outward-facing fund communications
- Consumer, media, or brand sector exposure
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field
How You Will Work
- Track everything: proactive follow-up, commitments, and document requests do not fall through the cracks
- Move between analytical and relational work in the same day without losing quality
- Communicate early and often with proactive updates
- Handle direct conversations with warmth and honesty
- Operate in a high-trust, high-intensity environment with real-time check-ins beyond a strictly bounded schedule (including weekends/off-hours when needed)
- Know when to escalate to the Principal versus facilitate flow

Application Requirement

Writing samples carry significant weight in the process.
