Junior Accountant

Overview

The organization is seeking a full-time Junior Accountant in Wichita, KS. This position offers a competitive wage of up to $50,000 annually and follows a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day business office operations.
• Prepare journal entries and vouchers.
• Post activity to the general ledger.
• Maintain vendor master records.
• Reconcile subsidiary ledgers and support financial analysis.
• Track expenses related to funding sources.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reports as required by funding sources, including analysis of actual-to-budget variances.
• Provide support to program staff as needed for financial questions.

Essential Job Functions

General Ledger / Financial Analysis

• Prepare journal entries, vouchers, and subsidiary ledger reconciliations.
• Perform financial analysis on various general ledger accounts.
• Assist with audit schedules.

Grant Reporting

• Serve as a liaison between program staff and finance.
• Oversee funding sources as assigned.
• Provide reporting required by grant or funding sources, including analysis of actual-to-budget variances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 2 years of finance or accounting experience.
• Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with nonprofit accounting and grant management.
