Overview
A global intellectual property law firm with a long-standing history and a team of over 400 attorneys and technology specialists across the U.S., Europe, and China is seeking a Legal Pricing Financial Analyst to join their fast-paced Finance Department. This role is part of a remote-first group of professionals, with employees primarily working from home and no regular in-office presence expected.
Responsibilities
- Master the fundamentals and complexities of law firm pricing, including operations and analysis
- Prepare and analyze reports to ensure data integrity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain accurate financial system data
- Implement, monitor, and support client pricing in alignment with contractual requirements and internal guidelines, ensuring accurate setup, approvals, and billing execution
- Address pricing-related inquiries from other departments, attorneys, senior management, and outside clients through problem-solving
- Provide financial analysis of legal practice groups and other operational aspects of the firm
- Produce ad hoc and standardized monthly and quarterly management reports and presentations
- Expand knowledge and responsibilities over time in all aspects of the firm’s financial management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
- Preferred prior experience in roles involving problem solving, critical thinking, financial analysis, reporting, and detail-oriented tasks
- Strong ability and motivation to identify and analyze issues and work toward solutions
- Ability to learn quickly, multitask effectively, stay organized, and maintain high-quality work
- Capability and willingness to independently manage tasks, functions, or projects from start to finish
- Proactive in identifying knowledge gaps and asking questions
- Acute attention to detail and quality of work product
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas; knowledge of SQL and VBA or demonstrated ability to learn programming languages is a plus
- Ability to travel to the Minneapolis office for training and occasional team meetings
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary with an estimated starting pay range of $68,000 to $102,000 per year, based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications; salary range is consistent across geographic markets
