Overview
This role is part of a globally distributed accounting team focused on advancing the future of crypto accounting. The team supports various business units by ensuring accurate and timely financial recording and reporting within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve payroll and compensation entries before posting to the general ledger, including payroll runs, benefits allocation, commissions, bonuses, stock-based compensation, and internally developed software capitalization
- Reconcile general ledger (G/L) accounts and review reconciliations prepared by others
- Take ownership of business unit general ledgers and serve as a point of contact for statutory audits
- Ensure business unit transactions are recorded accurately, completely, and timely
- Support preparation of business unit financial statements
- Collaborate with multiple departments including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Platform Operations, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Human Resources, and Compliance
- Assist in implementing internal controls and accounting processes, including documentation such as process narratives and flowcharts
- Support adoption of new U.S. GAAP accounting standards by coordinating with process owners, developing implementation plans, and executing changes in processes, systems, and financial reporting disclosures
- Interact with internal and external auditors
- Perform intercompany accounting, including reconciliation of intercompany balances and resolving discrepancies across global entities
- Work with Treasury and other departments to ensure proper accounting treatment of complex transactions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Minimum of 7 years relevant accounting experience
- Chartered Accountant designation preferred
- Experience in compensation accounting
- Background in financial services, fintech, banking, or exchange accounting strongly preferred
- Experience working in multi-entity organizations with complex intercompany structures
- Strong collaboration, innovation, flexibility, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and ability to understand complex financial transactions and technical accounting concepts within a regulatory framework
- Ability to work independently and prioritize to deliver accurate and timely results
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office suites, including advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, SUMIF)
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Oracle
- Cryptocurrency knowledge or experience is preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $83,400 to $166,800 annually
