Overview
This role supports an organization’s hybrid work model with flexibility to work remotely. In-person time may be expected during the team’s scheduled collaboration weeks, based on business needs.
This position operates at the intersection of mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and investor relations, partnering with the executive team to help formulate and execute M&A strategy and to build and maintain relationships with investors.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with founders, executives, investors, and advisors aligned with M&A priorities and that inform future priorities.
- Develop acquisition theses and corresponding market analyses for specific acquisition priorities, including relationship-building with relevant companies, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Lead business case development for potential acquisitions, owning the financial model and leading valuation/structuring.
- Drive deal execution, including LOI/definitive agreement negotiation, due diligence, and integration planning, in coordination with other stakeholders.
- Partner with Strategy & Operations and key functional leaders to establish integration governance.
- Drive investor engagement, including collaborating on materials for BOD meetings and investor updates.
- Build cross-functional partnerships to source and align on strategic priorities and reinforce a trusted advisor approach across Corp Dev and IR.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of transactional experience across a range of investment banking, consulting, investing, and/or corporate development.
- Experience building relationships with founders/executives and investors (extra credit for an established network).
- Strong analytical foundation and intellectual curiosity related to technology (especially AI), business strategy, and finance.
- Experience leveraging generative AI as a force multiplier for research, analysis, and communication.
- Demonstrated reputation for quality, attention to detail, and initiative.
- Collaboration mindset with the ability to partner and influence effectively across departments; willingness to take ownership and do what’s needed to make deals successful.
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Sense of humor.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive market-based pay, with base pay varying by location and compensation zone (for US locations). Base pay may also vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Compensation range: $97K - $264K
