Overview
This role supports a growing Forensic Investigations team. You will help uncover facts, analyze complex financial information, and contribute to high-impact matters involving fraud, disputes, investigations, and business challenges. The position is well-suited for individuals who are curious, analytical, and detail-oriented—especially those interested in how accounting, finance, economics, and law come together in real-world situations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct economic, valuation, financial, accounting, and industry research as needed.
- Analyze financial and non-financial information and report findings to other team members from public sources.
- Support preparation of damages models, forensic accounting investigative work, and expert reports with strong attention to detail.
- Work independently while managing staff and communicating with experts, clients, and counsel.
- Prepare for and attend hearings, trials, and mediations as needed (travel may be required).
- Manage day-to-day requirements across multiple engagements and associated duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar from an accredited university or college, or MBA.
- 4+ to 10 years of prior experience in economic damages and/or forensic accounting.
- Strong expert report writing skills to complement analytics and quantitative skills.
- Ability to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations and develop creative approaches to resolve complex problems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-resolution abilities.
- Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- SQL, R, and other database or statistical programs are a plus.
- Ability to travel as needed, likely less than 10% of the time or less.
- English proficiency is required.
- Prior experience at one of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms is a plus; other commensurate experience in banking, mid-tier accounting firms, or litigation support firms will be considered.
- Holder of or pursuing CPA, CFF, CFA, CFE, ASA, or ABV credentials is must.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with S&P’s CapIQ is a plus.
- Proficiency in a second non-English language (in addition to English) is a plus and encouraged.
