Overview
The organization is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting to oversee, complete, and review internal and external financial statement creation and reporting. This role also leads and manages the audit process for a leading pediatric healthcare system, including joint ventures and affiliates. The position requires a detail-oriented and experienced accounting leader who can work independently managing monthly close, internal and external reporting, researching and implementing new accounting standards, and serving as a technical accounting resource.
Responsibilities
- Manage monthly close processes, internal and external reporting, and research and implementation of new accounting standards.
- Serve as the technical accounting resource for the accounting department.
- Coordinate as the main contact for external benefits audits and the annual external audit.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Maintain knowledge of the general ledger and organizational operations to provide useful financial performance information to leadership.
- Maintain knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including technical research and preparation of memos supporting accounting positions.
- Lead a small team of general ledger accountants and provide leadership across the accounting department.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with experience in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and industry.
- At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.

- Graduate or professional work or advanced degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
