Overview
This role is part of the Investment Manager Services Division (IMS) within the organization. The organization is seeking new members for the Private Equity & Hedge Fund Accounting Teams. The primary objective is to deliver exceptional customer service, accounting, and administration services to hedge fund and private equity fund clients.
As a Fund Accounting Manager, you will oversee fund accounting operations and resolve accounting issues for clients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary client point of contact, demonstrating expertise in offshore and domestic fund accounting and administration for alternative funds.
- Manage delegation of work to the team; coordinate and onboard new fund set-ups.
- Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to deliver accurate and thorough accounting packages.
- Support year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP accounting standards.
- Perform due diligence to help ensure clients comply with applicable government laws and regulations.
- Adhere to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and procedures when reviewing fund transactions.
- Ensure the team follows departmental rules and regulations designed to prevent illegal practices involving income generation.
- Generate and reconcile accounting reporting, including month-end valuation reports.
- Review and approve month-end valuations prior to client distribution with a goal of 100% accuracy.
- Authorize wire payments from fund escrow accounts.
- Respond to day-to-day inquiries from investment managers, including questions related to fund transactions, administration servicing planning, reporting, and financial statements.
- Coordinate with investment managers, transfer agents, and sales and service teams to resolve open issues.
- Engage internal technology support and vendor support as needed to resolve production or system support queries.
- Conduct performance appraisals; run monthly one-on-ones with supervisors and analysts.
- Provide career pathing, training, and support individual development.
- Manage staffing needs by assessing resource requirements, interviewing candidates, and hiring.
- Champion a team environment and support decisions related to promotions and disciplinary action.
- Support new business development and relationship teams for prospect calls, client visits, and presentations.
- Facilitate onboarding of new and converted clients by gathering requirements, submitting custom requests, and communicating key deliverables to team members.
- Participate in IMS and corporate professional development sessions to identify and improve processes across the division and organization.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the fund services industry (alternatives experience required).
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory or management experience.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $105,000 - $130,000 per year.
- Discretionary bonus eligibility each year, subject to company approval.
