Overview

A pharmaceutical partner is seeking a Manager, Site Budgets to work remotely. This role involves leading the development of investigator grants and per-subject cost estimates, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver accurate, compliant, and high-quality budget solutions throughout the study lifecycle. The position also serves as a subject matter expert, driving process improvements and influencing key stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Develop accurate and timely total investigator grants and per-subject cost estimates based on study design and schedule of events using a fair market value tool
Review CROs’ and/or sites’ proposed changes to study-specific budget parameters in partnership with internal business lines
Ensure delivery of high-quality, compliant, effective, and timely budget deliverables
Maintain productive relationships with internal client groups
Lead ongoing process improvements and training sessions, including participation in strategic initiatives
Onboard, train, and mentor peers; potentially manage direct reports
Provide subject matter expertise for assigned therapeutic areas
Ensure performance and efficiency standards are met for assignments
Provide ongoing guidance to peers on site budgeting
Utilize protocol design, historical information, and operational approach to determine overall investigator grant costs
Develop and present budget scenarios to study teams for OPRB and related meetings
Engage with stakeholders from early planning through the end-to-end budgeting lifecycle
Understand differences between early and final budget estimates
Help develop and enhance site budgeting processes
Handle site budgeting escalations and conduct issue resolution of moderate to high complexity
Ensure internal systems are updated timely, accurately, and completely
Prioritize assignments effectively and efficiently
Stay current with industry standards and identify best practices for continuous improvement
Train others on site budgeting and industry practices
Manage changes to study scope, ensuring timely budget amendments and implementation
Serve as single point of contact for non-standard budget line items requiring internal approval
Develop guidance documents
Mitigate and drive solutions regarding site budgeting challenges
Influence vendors and internal stakeholders
Participate in and occasionally lead cross-functional teams
May require up to 25% travel

Requirements

Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience with clinical site budgeting at a biopharmaceutical company, CRO, or site
At least 6 months of applicable mentoring, training, and/or matrix-level people management experience
Bachelor’s degree required
