Overview
A healthcare organization is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join their Revenue Cycle team. This remote position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data and payer information and is passionate about supporting community health organizations.
Responsibilities
- Perform payment posting for multiple Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and Community Health Centers (CHC)
- Accurately and promptly post patient and insurance payments
- Reconcile deposits, remittances, and electronic payment files
- Process daily, weekly, and monthly medical billing workflows
- Research payer requirements and stay current with coding and billing rules
- Assist with accounts receivable follow-up, billing inquiries, and customer service tasks
- Access payer portals, state/federal sites, and clearinghouses for billing activities
- Support member organizations with high-quality communication and service
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues and improve workflows
- Participate in training and maintain knowledge of billing and regulatory updates
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience
- Experience using clearinghouses and healthcare portals
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
- Customer service–oriented mindset
- Must be NextGen Certified (NCP) or able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FQHC billing
- Experience in Dental or Behavioral Health billing
- Familiarity with NextGen EPM, EDR, or Optical systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Work Environment
- 100% remote work
- Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Time
- Minimal travel required (5–10 days per year)

Compensation
- Hourly rate range: $18.00 - $27.00
