Operational & Technical Accounting Consultants – Automation & AI Transformation Projects

Overview

This consulting role supports experienced accounting professionals working with clients across Finance and Operations in the Bay Area. Projects may focus on modernizing accounting functions through automation, data optimization, and technology integration. Assignments are varied and may include hands-on technical work and client-facing collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to streamline accounting workflows using automation tools, AI solutions, and advanced analytics.
• Support or lead system transformation efforts, including ERP integrations, process redesign, and reporting enhancements.
• Develop and maintain operational accounting deliverables across close, consolidation, and reporting cycles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize practices and improve data integrity and insight delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the finance function’s ability to scale and adapt in a digital environment.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in operational and technical accounting, with experience across GL close, reconciliations, consolidation, or financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience integrating automation, AI, or data tools (for example: Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, or custom scripting) into accounting workflows.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, modeling, and automation logic.
• Background with large ERP systems (for example: SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or similar).
• Ability to think strategically while executing precisely in hands-on, fast-paced environments.
• Consulting mindset, including adaptability and a collaborative approach, with interest in varied project-based opportunities across industries.
• Experience in technology, SaaS, life sciences, fintech, or manufacturing environments—ideally supporting fast-paced, high-growth, or transformation-focused organizations.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $80hr.
