Overview

An established technology services organization, founded in 2006, is seeking a Payroll Clerk 2 to support payroll processing across government and commercial labor categories. The organization specializes in cybersecurity, cloud computing, geographic information systems, business intelligence, data warehousing, engineering services, and custom database and application development. It holds certifications such as WOSB, CA CDB, MBE, WBE, and CMMI Level 3.

Responsibilities

  • Input timecard and labor data into payroll and HRIS systems
  • Support processing of semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls
  • Ensure compliance with labor categories, job codes, and billing structures
  • Validate PTO accruals, deductions, and required fringe benefits
  • Reconcile payroll variances, missing time entries, and exception reports
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to timekeeping or pay
  • Support payroll audits and labor compliance reviews
  • Maintain secure documentation and filing in accordance with audit standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll processing or timekeeping systems
  • Proficient with payroll software and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of wage and hour compliance
  • Understanding of federal and state tax regulations
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Preferred experience in a government contractor environment
  • Familiarity with ADP and JAMIS systems
  • Knowledge of Service Contract Act (SCA) and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requirements
  • Awareness of Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) regulations
