Overview
A rapidly growing sports platform specializing in Daily Fantasy Sports is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll administration. This role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The Payroll Manager will handle day-to-day payroll operations, implement best practices, maintain payroll systems, and act as the subject matter expert on payroll-related matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage and process payroll for employees across multiple states and jurisdictions accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee payroll system functionality, including upgrades and integrations with HRIS, accounting, and benefits systems.
- Maintain payroll records ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity.
- Manage year-end activities such as W-2s, 1099s, and other required filings.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies professionally and promptly.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on compensation and benefits programs related to payroll.
- Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a payroll management or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and regulations, supporting operations in 30+ states.
- Experience with UKG Ready payroll system is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $110,000 to $130,000, dependent on role, level, location, skills, experience, and education.

Location
- Preference for candidates based in Atlanta, but open to qualified applicants anywhere in the U.S.
- Remote candidates will be considered.
