Overview
A company operating in the Daily Fantasy Sports industry in North America is seeking a Payroll Manager. The organization provides a platform covering a wide range of sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, and Esports titles such as League of Legends and Counter-Strike. The team has grown to over 550 employees and serves a diverse audience.
Responsibilities
- Manage and process payroll for employees across multiple states and jurisdictions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage, tax, and reporting regulations
- Oversee payroll system functionality, upgrades, and integrations with HRIS, accounting, and benefits systems
- Maintain payroll records ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity
- Manage year-end payroll activities including W-2s, 1099s, and filings
- Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Collaborate with HR and Finance on compensation and benefits as they relate to payroll
- Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and reduce risk
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a payroll management or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws, supporting operations in 30+ states
- Experience with UKG Ready preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and understanding of accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $110,000 to $130,000, dependent on location, skills, experience, and education
