Overview

This role involves processing and administering employee payroll with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. You will serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and partner with Human Resources, Finance, and other teams to support smooth payroll operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll on weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly schedules, ensuring each cycle is completed accurately and on time
  • Review and audit payroll data, including timecards, earnings, deductions, and taxes, to maintain data integrity
  • Maintain comprehensive employee payroll records and update information for new hires, terminations, status changes, and compensation adjustments
  • Administer wage garnishments, levies, child support orders, and other deductions
  • Reconcile payroll reports and prepare journal entries
  • Assist with payroll tax filings, including W-2 processing at year-end
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll policies
  • Support internal audits and provide required payroll documentation
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and increase efficiency

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of payroll processing experience
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll is preferred
  • Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, UKG, Workday, Ceridian, or similar platforms
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle complex payroll scenarios efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPP certification (advantageous but not required)
