Overview

This role involves supporting corporate payroll operations to ensure employees across multiple businesses are paid accurately and on time. The position supports payroll processing and related activities in a fast-paced environment, partnering with HR, Finance, Accounting, and employees.

You will work with Workday Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance, assisting with reporting, audits, employee inquiries, and ongoing process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll using Workday Payroll
  • Ensure payroll transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain payroll records and process employee salary changes, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll-related transactions
  • Manage payroll-related deductions, including garnishments and tax administration through ADP SmartCompliance
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, labor reports, 401(k), workers’ compensation, and audit reporting
  • Create and maintain payroll reports within ADP
  • Assist with payroll accounting, general ledger reconciliations, and year-end payroll activities
  • Research and resolve payroll questions from employees, managers, and HR partners
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Accounting to support payroll operations and improve processes
  • Stay current on payroll regulations and industry best practices

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
  • Experience with Workday Payroll
  • Experience with ADP SmartCompliance, payroll reporting, and payroll analytics
  • Experience processing payroll from start to finish with a high degree of accuracy
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) highly preferred
  • Experience using payroll systems and timekeeping platforms
  • Working knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $72,300 - $90,400.00
  • Base pay may vary based on scope and responsibilities, candidate work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, and market/business considerations.
  • Salary may be subject to geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state) if authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
