Overview

A growing healthcare organization focused on improving the health and dignity of older adults is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist. This role involves managing the end-to-end payroll process to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of paychecks. Responsibilities

  • Manage semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy of time records, pay rates, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, garnishments, and other compensation details.
  • Maintain and audit employee payroll records, focusing on time entry, benefits, deductions, and tax information.
  • Calculate and submit federal, state, and local payroll taxes accurately and in compliance with laws and company policies.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate data entry for new hires, terminations, job changes, and leave management.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts with the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, withholdings, or adjustments.
  • Manage stop payments, reissues, and corrections when discrepancies occur.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and required filings.
  • Assist with internal and external payroll audits.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years payroll processing experience, preferably in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with Workday Payroll and Workday Time Tracking.
