Overview
This is a 6-month contract, temp-to-hire role for a Payroll Specialist to join a fast-paced accounting team focused on processing payroll and supporting related financial and compliance activities.
Responsibilities
- Process US payroll for hourly and salaried employees as part of a team.
- Prepare post-payroll contribution files for 401(k), FSA, and HSA remittances to Fidelity and other vendors.
- Compile schedules to support financial, tax, 401(k), workers compensation audits, and other reports requiring employee payroll data (e.g., proxy statements).
- Manage the ADP payroll system and recommend improvements and process automation.
- Assist the Senior Manager of Payroll & Stock Administration on payroll and other projects.
- Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters.
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and SOX controls related to payroll processes.
- Perform SOX testing on other accounting processes.

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR/Payroll.
- Strong preference for experience with ADP WorkforceNow software.
- Knowledge of stock-related transactions such as options, ESPP, and RSUs is desirable.
- Experience with Canadian payroll is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to improving processes and resources.
- Team-oriented with high integrity and accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven, hands-on environment with a strong sense of urgency.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $28–$32 USD per hour.
- Final salary dependent on experience, skills, location, education, and other factors.
- Eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
