Overview
This role involves supporting the delivery of consulting projects to employer prospects and clients within the employee benefits sector, focusing on pharmacy benefits and health and welfare insurance solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct financial analyses for clients, including prescription drug (Rx) proposal comparisons, underwriting, forecasting, and rebate estimating.
- Participate in bidding processes for prospective clients.
- Use financial expertise to negotiate with Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs) and carriers on behalf of clients during annual renewals and marketing efforts.
- Prepare initial drafts of new business and client deliverables.
- Collaborate with Senior Pharmacy Consultants and other health benefit consultants to support client strategy development.
- Research pharmacy industry issues relevant to large employers, synthesize information, and develop written summaries for review.
- Manage projects using appropriate tools to ensure timely completion and quality assurance.
- Work with client teams to optimize the use of pharmacy practice resources and improve process efficiency.
- Maintain data integrity by complying with agency management system standards and entering accurate information.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Care or a related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in an actuarial, underwriting, pricing, or consulting role within a Health & Welfare consulting/brokerage firm, PBM, or health insurance carrier specializing in pharmacy benefits analytics.
- Working knowledge of the commercial health insurance industry and strong financial acumen.
