Overview

This role involves serving as a Portfolio Analyst focused on credit and enterprise risk analytics. The position supports lending strategy, portfolio performance, and risk governance through advanced portfolio analysis, forecasting, and early warning indicators. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide executive- and board-level insights via dashboards, reporting, and scenario analysis.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Analytics & Monitoring

  • Analyze delinquency, charge-offs, loss trends, and concentration across lending portfolios, including detailed reviews by collateral type, geography, product, and borrower characteristics.
  • Monitor portfolio performance against risk appetite, forecasts, and budget.
  • Identify and escalate emerging risk trends and behavioral shifts in delinquency, charge-offs, concentrations, underwriting standards, policy exceptions, and overall loan portfolio performance.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to support risk-related decision-making, including new lending programs.

Reporting & Executive Insights

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive risk dashboards, heatmaps, early warning indicator metrics, and recurring performance reports.
  • Translate data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for Enterprise Risk or Credit Risk leadership.
  • Support business units with ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Assist with executive and board-level reporting on recoveries, risk exposure, and trends.

Forecasting & Scenario Analysis

  • Develop proactive analysis and modeling including stress tests, static pool analysis, scenario analysis, and drill-down reporting to identify emerging risks.
  • Model impacts of strategy changes, policy shifts, or economic conditions on loan portfolios.
  • Partner with Finance on budget planning and variance analysis.

Governance, Compliance & Data Integrity

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of reporting and data across systems.
  • Support audits, exams, and model validation requests.
  • Maintain documentation for assumptions, methodologies, and metrics.
  • Manage and maintain the loan analytics platform (nCino), including data integrity and system optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to risk management.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating risk management and lending policies, procedures, and job aids.
  • Support facilitation of Enterprise/Credit Risk Committee meetings, including agenda preparation, reporting, and documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with business units including Collections/Recovery, Institutional, Direct and Indirect Lending, Loan Operations, Vendor Management, Compliance, Finance, Data, and IT.
  • Support evaluation, maintenance, and development of third-party vendor relationships.
  • Contribute to test-and-learn initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • This position is remote.
  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in credit risk, portfolio risk, or financial services analytics.
  • Prior experience in consumer loan underwriting, operations, or processing within a bank or credit union.
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, nCino, or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
