Overview

A healthcare organization is seeking a Portfolio Strategy Analyst to join their Shockwave Medical team. This fully remote position is open to candidates located anywhere in the United States, with an expectation of up to 30% travel, including quarterly visits to the Santa Clara, California office.

The role focuses on supporting portfolio strategy initiatives through data acquisition, management, and insight generation. The team is pioneering the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) technology to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease.

Responsibilities

  • Aggregate, clean, and analyze market, sales, and utilization data
  • Develop repeatable analytical frameworks and dashboards to support portfolio reviews, strategic planning, and leadership discussions
  • Collaborate with commercial operations and analytics teams to align on data sources and usage
  • Assist in building business case assessments for new indications or portfolio expansion, including market sizing and adoption dynamics
  • Support end-to-end Voice of Expert (VOE) processes: framework development, data aggregation, synthesis, and trend identification
  • Translate qualitative expert input into structured insights to inform portfolio priorities and development decisions
  • Support planning and insight capture for major medical conferences and forums
  • Improve integration and utilization of data across internal systems and external sources
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to enhance data usability and accessibility for the portfolio team
  • Explore and pilot AI-enabled tools to improve VOE capture, insight synthesis, and portfolio decision-making
  • Contribute ideas for AI deployment across portfolio strategy workflows

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in analytics, strategy, consulting, market research, commercial analytics, or related analytical roles
  • Strong analytical skills with experience handling complex data sets and synthesizing insights
  • Ability to translate data into clear, concise, actionable insights for cross-functional stakeholders
  • High intellectual curiosity with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to diverse audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Local candidates near Santa Clara preferred; remote candidates considered with quarterly travel to Santa Clara
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% (domestic and global)
  • Prior experience in medical device, healthcare, or life sciences is a plus but not required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range for fully remote US-based candidates: $79,000 - $127,650
  • Salary range for Bay Area-based candidates: $91,000 - $147,200
  • Eligibility to participate in consolidated retirement plan (pension) and 401(k) savings plan
  • Participation in long-term incentive program

  • Vacation: 120 hours per calendar year
