Overview

This role is within the cloud infrastructure finance organization supporting the Workload Health team. The team is responsible for cloud infrastructure financial planning and modeling for a specific product family within the broader cloud infrastructure ecosystem.

The position serves as a key business advisor to the product and engineering organization, with end-to-end product ownership as a lead for high-value (“whale”) customers. The work requires balancing big-picture thinking with deep attention to underlying details, leading product-specific projects, and driving data-informed recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage analysis of key high-value customers across all products within the IaaS portfolio
  • Develop scenario-based financial and business models, with a focus on deriving product-level insights for high-value customers
  • Perform competitive analysis, pricing, and cost modeling for NPI (new product introduction)
  • Link business strategy to financial reporting across multiple levels (from discrete services to overall offerings) using KPIs and goal setting
  • Understand and influence investment decisions through detailed financial analysis
  • Drive overall gross margin optimization through deep analysis of business, financial, and operational drivers
  • Own all financial ROB activities (including planning and budgeting cycles) in line with corporate and business requirements
  • Contribute to broader Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to ensure capacity investments are made in the right place, right time, and at the right size
  • Embed with engineering leaders and their teams and act as a trusted advisor
  • Drive policies and procedures that monitor and support operational and business objectives

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years finance experience; MBA a plus
  • Leading contributor individually and as a team member; able to provide direction and mentoring to others
  • Work is non-routine and very complex, requiring advanced technical/business skills in the area of specialization
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficiency in Oracle Financials
  • Strong analysis and research skills
  • Ability to partner across functions
  • Strong communication skills across disciplines (engineering, finance, supply chain, operations, etc.) and various levels of the organization
  • Results oriented; ability to translate ideas into operational plans and follow through
  • Track record of using data insights to drive decision-making
  • Strong partnering capabilities to influence others without direct authority
  • Initiative-taking mindset and ability to achieve value-added results
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in a business evolving at a hyper pace
  • Excellent analytic and strategic thinking skills with strong attention to detail
  • Self-directed and proactive; able to multi-task and take ownership of work
  • BS/BA in Accounting/Finance preferred; CPA/MBA desired
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technology and Infrastructure and/or experience supporting engineering preferred
